Alchymia Distillery @ Table Cape June Update
Hello lovely people Matt and I have been open and operating here at Table Cape now for 4 months!!
We have loved meeting all of our visitors and your feedback has been amazing, we are so chuffed that what we have created is being enjoyed by so many people, its all still a little bit surreal that we are actually doing this!
We’ve been busy in the first 4 months we have built the new outdoor ‘barrel bar’ made from old barrels from our friends at Hellyers Road Distillery, which is being enjoyed by visitors after they have done a tasting and tour they can chill out and have a drink and enjoy the beautiful view that we are blessed to enjoy every day.
We have made our first Table Cape new make spirit and casked it in some beautiful ex Heavens Hill Bourbon Casks that will quietly do their magic now over the coming years!!
We have had our first Private Cask owner join our Alchemist Academy Cask Experience and Cathryn filled her cask last week and was thrilled with the experience so far! Our Alchemist Academy Cask Experience has been designed over the last 6 years by Matt and I and it invites true whisky lovers to be involved in making their very own whisky here at the distillery and we then take them on a journey with their whisky throughout maturation inviting them back regularly to taste and sample their spirit and they then get to name their whisky and we bottle it with the chosen name on the label Cathryn said “it has been amazing you guys run a great experience and are so knowledgeable I can’t wait to come back in October and taste it to see what the cask has been able to do. Thank you I am loving the experience so far”
World Gin Day is 11th June so we will have food and tastings with some new cocktails being released so get the date in the diary! We have launched and released the dates for the Gin Experience for June which invites Gin lovers to come and make their own Gin and leave with a bottle of your recipe !!
Tasmanian whisky week is 8th August -14th August and we are doing an event here on the Saturday 13th August with the new BBQ & Smoker food truck and live music so keep an eye on the socials for the tickets being released at the end of June early July. We can’t wait to be involved in our first Tas Whisky Week as producers very exciting !!

Alchymia Distillery had our 1st World Whisky day and we did it in style with a piper piping people in as they arrived and the amazing local taco truck was on site so after people had met the distiller to understand how we make our small batch whisky all on site they could kick back in the barrel bar with a drink and a taco! It was a great turnout and people loved it!
