Update on Alchymia Distillery progress
We’ve had a busy few months working on the sheds that will become our Tasting room and Distillery here in Table Cape, Tasmania. In May Sarah spent some time with Red Cow Organic Cheese to make some cheese to lay down until we open in October so it will be nice and mature and ready to be enjoyed in the tasting room with a nip!
In the last week we have been busy putting the roof on the Tasting room. We had to delay the roofing for a week due to the high winds we get down here at Table Cape but we have now successfully without incident finished the new roof.
We have also laid 368 linear metres of Tassie Oak flooring which required just under 2,500 thousand nails which we put in by hand. Our blisters are now just subsiding a week on.
This week we have started on our ceiling project which is very exciting and is going to be a wow-factor for anybody coming into the Tasting room.
The dogs have been relaxing and not helping at all and their training for allowing visitors onto the property is still in progress!
We look forward to welcoming you all here soon
We also were lucky enough to get a slot in Bootcamp with Seedlab Tasmania in May which we successfully completed and have now progressed onto the Cultivate Accelerator program!!
Seedlab Tasmania is a unique incubator focused on guiding Tasmanian food, drink and agri-tourism businesses through start-up to be export ready. The team are both amazing inspirational and supportive and as this was a competitive process to secure a place, we are very excited and chuffed to have been offered a place on this next stage …… so watch this space.
